Guide to breaking through WoT premium tanks. Guide to breaking through WoT premium tanks Weaknesses in quarter 5

KV-5- is a Tier VIII Soviet premium tank and costs 7500 in-game gold. This tank looks like a steel hero, moving forward, it sweeps away all the spiteful critics almost without noticing their "bites". Of the main advantages of the tank, a rather high maximum speed of 40 km / h can be noted. Dynamics and maneuverability leave much to be desired, yet it is difficult to maneuver a 100-ton colossus. His main task, if he is in the top, is to destroy everything in his path. A tank can withstand 50 - 80 enemy hits per battle and still stay alive.

From the above, it can be understood that the tank is ideal for dealing damage with a ram. A 100 ton giant rushing at you at a speed of 40 km / h makes you wonder what you did wrong. Of the main advantages of the tank, its gun is also worth noting, but it is both a strength and a weakness of the tank. Its strength is its rate of fire, and its weak low armor penetration. If during the battle we encounter an IS-3, then this is no longer the best target for us, especially if it stands in a rhombus and at an average distance. In 90% of the case, we simply do not break through, and he almost always hits us.

The tactics of playing the KV-5 depends on where you are. If you hit the top, I want to note this happens quite often due to the good karma of the tank, then we just start to bend everyone and everything, thanks to our 170 mm all-round armor, please note that the IS-4 has 140 mm. Of course, the thickness of the armor of the KV-5 is higher, but do not forget about such a parameter as the angle of inclination of the armor on our tank, it is almost equal to 0. So we simply do not notice almost everyone who is below our level, and bend over like children. But do not forget that the KV-5 is not a bending stick and it is not godlike! And we have one big Achilles' heel - these are two small turrets in front of the tower. They miss damage regularly. If, nevertheless, a terrible fate did not pass you by, and you ended up with big uncles, then they will start playing with us in a bending stick, and you will act as a stick, and everyone else will bend you. In this case, we do not make any reckless actions, no breakthroughs. We simply stay behind the backs of our more powerful opponents and fire bombs. With a good set of circumstances, we can well annoy the enemy.

I would also like to note, since the tank is premium, on average we get from 60 - 70 thousand per battle, with a better game we get 90 - 100 thousand, and if you were just a god of war in a fight, then the numbers are 120 - 150 thousand will not surprise you. Repairs and shells cost literally a penny, and already in a week of playing on the KV-5 you will consider profits in the tens of millions.

Pros and cons

Pros:
- Durable armor.
- Rapid fire weapon.
- Increased income.
- Low cost of repairs and shells.
- High speed and good dynamics.
- Rear engine and transmission.
- Possibility of pumping the crew for subsequent transplantation.

Minuses:
- Low armor penetration of the gun.
- Vulnerable machine gun turrets.
- Low maneuverability.
- High price.
- Huge silhouette.

Specifications and assembly:

The crew consists of 6 people:

Commander
- gunner
- Driver-mechanic
- Radio operator
- Loader
- Loader

The crew should be the first to upgrade repairs, since the expression "The caterpillar is downed, movement is impossible" you will hear almost 20 times per battle, and this greatly hinders the game. Pump the second skill depending on whether you will sit down the crew. If not, then download the disguise.

Additional modules:

Rammer
- Vertical stabilizer
- Reinforced aiming drives (Fan, Toolbox or Liner)

Since the tank is not universal and has a good rate of fire, we put the emphasis on the rate of fire, and in addition we equip it with alternative modules such as:
Fan- a universal module suitable for any style of play.
Box with tools - allows you to quickly repair tracks, and this is quite relevant.
lining- this module will help you rush at the enemy with even bigger eyes and deal damage with a ram.

Consumables:

Oil
- repair kit
- First aid kit

In such an assembly of consumables, improved oil plays an important role, as it gives us a small plus in dynamics.

Recently I decided to ride the T-34, so to speak I decided to remember my youth in tanks. And it turned out that I do not break through all! It angered me! And I decided to open a new rubric. What's the point? In each article I will tell you how and where to punch TT. Today we will talk about how to break through each level 5 TT, in a couple of days level 6, etc. up to level 10.

Today we will look at 7 heavy tanks of level 5, and I will show where and who has weak points. To make it easier for you to understand me, I put arrows of different colors that indicate weakly armored zones.

KV-1

One of the most popular TTs at level 5, has decent all-round armor and a terribly armored turret. Consider the picture when your forehead is facing you. KVshka has 3 weak points in his forehead: lower armor plate, machine gun and vision module, which is located to the left of the machine gun. If the tank is on the side, everything is simple here, shoot at the side! If the enemy put up only a tower, then shoot at two small "antennae"(view modules). If stern, then just shoot at the stern.

IMPORTANT!!! If the tank is turned sideways, make sure that during the shot the projectile does not fall under a large angle of armor, otherwise it threatens not to break through.

KV-220 and KV-220T

identical and differ only in letter "T". Both tanks are heavily armored. Here you need to shoot in the same way as on the KV-1: machine gun and vision module, on the left, these weak areas are marked in red in the picture.

VK 30.01 (H)

This tank ABSOLUTELY not armored, this tank's armor is not even cardboard, but foil! In general, there is nothing to talk about here, you will break through almost everything.

T1 Heavy Tank

The tank is distinguished by very long and cardboard sides. Always try to shoot at the side, it is the weakest in this tank, and if the American is turned forehead, shoot at the machine gun, as well as at the vision module from the right and at this upper armor plate, on which the machine gun with the module is located.

BDR G1B

It does not have good armor, but often there are good and cheating ricochets. If the enemy looks at you with his forehead, shoot at the right side of the upper armor plate. If you didn't get through there, then shoot at the HUGE commander's tower. If the tank is on the side, then it is better not to shoot with landmines and cumulatives. there is 20 mm on the side of the BDR. screens.

Churchill I and Churchill 3

completely identical. They do not differ in special armor, it is best to shoot at the side, but in no case AT AN ANGLE !!! If Churchill is standing with his forehead towards you, you need to shoot at the window on the left, and it is best to shoot at the tower. there he has only 80 mm.

KV-5 is a Tier 8 premium heavy tank. We will learn the history of the tank, compare it with other heavy tanks of tier 8 and identify the positive and negative sides of the tank, consider the vulnerabilities and the location of the modules in the tank and, as has become a tradition, penetration and advice on game tactics.

History reference.

It all started in March 1941, when the Red Army command received information from a reconnaissance group. It reported that in Germany, work had been completed on the creation of "super-armored" tanks and they were already at the disposal of the German troops, and also in the intelligence report it was said that no current weapon existed in Soviet army it was not able to break through, hit these tanks.

But still, it should be said that in Germany at the time of 1941 there were no works on the creation of tanks with reinforced armor. The Soviet intelligence officers were mistaken, they really saw tanks with reinforced armor and mistook them for German ones, but this was not so. In fact, it was captured French tanks of the B-1 brand with 60 mm armor.

The top leadership of the USSR and the Red Army takes an immediate decision. On April 7, 1941, the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR and the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks adopted Decree No. 827-345 ss, which spoke of the creation of a new super-heavy and super-armored, three-turret tank, codenamed Object 225 or. Here is a snippet about the KV-5 in the decree of April 7:

"Director of the Kirov Plant
Comrade Saltsman:
1. Design and manufacture the KV-5 tank by November 10, 1941. The design of the tank hull and stamped turret should be developed jointly with the designers of the Izhora plant based on the following main characteristics of the KV-5:
a) armor - frontal 170 mm, side - 150 mm, tower - 170 mm;
b) armament - 107 mm gun ZiS-6;
c) engine - diesel engine with a capacity of 1200 hp;
d) width not more than 4200 mm.
When designing, provide for the possibility of transportation by rail under all traffic conditions.
By July 15, 1941, prepare and submit to the Izhora Plant drawings for the hull and turret of the KV-5. By August 1, 1941, submit for approval to the NPO of the USSR and the GABTU KA the layout and technical design of the KV-5. Take into account that the Izhora Plant is obliged to manufacture and submit to the Kirov Plant by October 1, 1941, the KV-5 hull and turret.

  1. powerful armor

  3. Vulnerabilities on the forehead of the tank

Vulnerabilities and weaknesses of the KV-5.

We see who is sitting behind these two turrets: a radio operator sits behind the largest one, it breaks through very well, behind the second - a driver mechanic, which is tightly soldered and we can only break through it with a gun above 110 mm.

Now I will tell you a little about what position you need to get into so that there are ricochets and no penetration. And the first thing to do is to turn a rhombus, if you rode a Mouse, then this pose is familiar to you, and whoever doesn’t know, I’ll tell you now. The fact is, our task is to minimize the angles in relation to the enemy, turn the tank in any direction, that is, we should not stand at a right angle to it, even though there is 170 mm of armor. We need to rotate the hull to lower the angles, which will significantly reduce the chance of penetrating us.

If you are behind cover, we stand behind the house, so that the opponents can see the left side of the tank, where the almost impenetrable turret is located, and it is smaller in size than the right one, which makes it possible to miss from a long distance.

The same rule for American tanks - do not stick out the hull, but show the tower, is also suitable for us. Both the turret and the hull are almost identically armored, but the rear of the turret and hull are a little smaller, and no one has canceled the gun's unpierced mask.

Penetration zones KV-5.

Consider, as has already become a tradition, two guns, but today we will replace the heavy tank with a light tank, and therefore welcome. The first gun is 85 mm D-5T-85BM and 57 mm ZiS-4 - after all, these guns are installed on many tanks.

In the first case, we are playing on a secular medium tank T-34-85, with a top-end 85 mm D-5T-85BM gun.

When meeting with the KV-5, we must shoot at the machine gun turret to the left of us, it transmits damage very well and gives a chance to crit the radio operator.

We cannot break through the other turret, the right one - ricochets and non-penetration. We can also shoot at the upper turrets, we also regularly break through them.

I also want to say about the triplex - on the turret of the tank it easily breaks through and at the same time the damage passes, but the probability of hitting is not great, but if you shoot from afar at the triplex, then there is a chance to hit it - the projectile flies either into the turret or into the triplex .

More than KV-5, we can’t pierce anywhere yet 170 mm in the forehead.

At an angle, the tank becomes very difficult to penetrate, all the main armor becomes even more impenetrable for us. But this is of little interest to us, because all large turrets also let through damage and we try to shoot at their central part so that there are no ricochets and the angle is right.

Unfortunately, we still can’t take the side and side section of the turret, but there is a section where you can pierce the tank - right behind the turret there is a section of the hull visible to us and it has very weak armor, if we hit it, we will stably pierce and cause damage to the tank.

Even if we boarded the KV-5, it doesn’t make life easier for us, because there is 150 mm of armor - both on the hull and on the turret. You can continue to shoot at the turrets, but here you need to be careful and look from which side we are and which turret is easier for us to shoot at. We hardly break through the hull itself, and the damage will go either into the caterpillar or into the hull.

When shooting at the tower, most often you will not see penetrations, but it has a characteristic strip of armor in the lower part, which breaks through us very well.

Shooting at the stern of the tank, we can pierce it, but only in the upper part, the lower one is not attackable for us. We will not break through the back of the tower.

Let's proceed to the second case, when we meet the KV-5 on the top Soviet light tank T-50-2, with the top-end 57 mm ZiS-4 gun.

We sometimes pierce the KV-5 in its turret.

But we calmly break through the tank into the elongated thin triplex on the KV-5 turret.

And the last place where we break through the KV-5 is the stern, as already mentioned, only in its upper part, the stern of the tower is still not available to us.

The KV-5 is used to defend areas with the ability to move forward smoothly. It is rarely used as a rush tank, especially if the team has a lot of heavy tanks of 8-9 levels. You should fight on a tank from a medium or long distance, because the turrets regularly miss damage without giving you the opportunity to fight at close range, but this is only possible with low-level opponents. In addition, the crew can be pumped very well and quickly on the tank and then transplanted to any other Soviet tank without loss. Very comfortably.

As for tactics, we can freely abandon the path of the direction of heavy tanks and go to the direction of medium tanks. Thanks to our speed, we can quickly take a position convenient for us and shoot enemies. If the enemies are trying to fight from a long distance, then most likely they will not penetrate you, and you will deal regular damage. As for close combat, if you see that the enemy has little life, you should try to tarant him, because 100 tons at 40 km / h is strong, and then start shooting the rest of the opponents. We regularly break through all medium tanks from level 8 and below. If a low-level enemy tries to spin you, it doesn’t matter - you can also substitute a board for him, since there is 150 mm.

If there are several tanks of levels 7 and 6 in front of you, then you can try to come there and kill everyone, the main thing is to see if the artillery will cover you when changing positions and if “more uncles” are waiting for you there, which can hurt very much. Not everyone likes to drive in the directions of medium tanks, and this is not always correct.

If you need to cover the direction in which heavy tanks will go, then there are already sharp breakthroughs in order to punish everyone, you don’t need to do anything, no hasty actions, no dubious attacks. Our job is to fight to the death. We arrive at a place convenient for us, hide all vulnerable places behind shelters, and if there are none, we turn the tank in a rhombus

As far as equipment is concerned, stabilizer, aiming drives, rammer or lining or ventilation. Out of gear first aid kit, repair kit, in the third branch, I would advise you to take oil, which has a very good effect on the dynamics of the tank.

In this World of Tanks video guide, we'll talk about the Soviet premium tier 8 tank KV-5. Now this tank has been removed from sale, replacing it with another heavy tank - the IS-6, and earlier it was much cheaper than the rest of the premium Tier 8 TTs - 7500 gold coins or about 1000 Russian rubles. However, after being withdrawn from sale, this tank already appeared in the store in the form of a gift bag. So, if you have patience and desire, then there may be an opportunity to get it in the hangar.

Advantages of the premium tank KV-5

The first and main task of premium tanks is to earn silver (credits) in World of Tanks. And while for ordinary upgraded tanks, income decreases with increasing levels, for premium tanks the opposite is true. And since the 8th level is the maximum for premium vehicles, the KV-5 is one of the best anvers in the game, which allows you to serve a lot of requests for top tanks in your hangar, and makes it possible to buy these very tops. Of course, provided that you do not abuse gold ammo.

The other two pluses of a premium car are that nothing needs to be explored in it. You buy an elite tank right away, all the experience earned on which can be spent either on accelerated crew training, or transferred for gold to free. And secondly, you can put the crews of other Soviet heavy tanks into it without retraining, once again removing twice the experience every day and at the same time earning credits, pumping the crew of the main vehicle. In comparison with other tanks of the same level, in addition to performance characteristics, the KV-5 has two significant differences. Firstly, these are much cheaper shells. With equal damage dealt, replenishment of ammunition on the KV-5 costs a much smaller amount than on most other classmates, respectively, bringing you more profit. Secondly, unlike, incl. and from other premium tanks, for example, Lyova and T-34, it does not get into battles with tanks of 10 levels, and is very often in the top.

TTX KV-5 comparison with classmates

By the way, about TTX. Let's compare this tank to other tier 8 heavy tanks. HP: maximum at the level, mass: second place after KV-4. The traverse speed of the IS-6 turret is rather mediocre. Many light medium tanks have a chance to spin us if the terrain allows. Engine power - 11.8 hp for 1 ton. 40 km / h is a good maximum speed for its mass, and indeed among classmates. And although the tank moves rather poorly on soft and medium soils, on a hard surface it shows impressive dynamics. On flat straight sections, it easily accelerates to 30 km / h. 100 tons of metal at this speed is very harsh. Due to its mass and frontal armor, it can perfectly ram almost any opponents. You should not butt heads except with the KV-4 and the German super-heavy tanks of the 10th level. But the KV-5 does not get to them without additional efforts.

The review is very bad. However, like all Soviet tanks below level 9. The accuracy on paper is not very good, but in practice it is quite tolerable. We'll talk about this a little later.

Aiming speed - 2.9 s. Average at the level and the best among the Soviet TTs. Average damage per shot is 300 units. Rate of fire - 7 rounds per minute. When these two indicators are combined, they give the maximum damage per minute among TTs of the 8th level. Penetration - 167 mm: the smallest on the level. This is where the unspoken rule comes into play, according to which premium tanks should be inferior to their classmates. Therefore, although the KV-5 does not have opponents of the 10th level, such a small penetration forces us to study all the weak points of possible opponents. Luckily, every tank in the game has pressure points, and with a little skill and luck, you're capable of head-on on any enemy you encounter.

Well, let's move on to practical tests of penetration of the KV-5 in World of Tanks. To begin with, we fire at the tank with shells with a penetration of 105 mm. KV-5 has the best level and one of the best all-round defense in the game. His armor is very thick on all sides. This does not mean that they will not break through us - of course, they will. But sometimes unexpected ricochets and non-penetration will please. However, if there were no frankly weak points in this armor, the car would not be premium and not at the 8th level. However, for firefly guns, and even then not for everyone, only a narrow strip in the stern is available on the KV-5. The upper armor on the KV-5 is quite thin, making it very vulnerable to artillery.

The next gun we fire at the tank has a penetration of 128 mm. This is the penetration of the weakest medium tanks encountered in random battles with the KV-5. The vast majority of players know that usually tanks can easily break into turrets. And the KV-5 has plenty of turrets. However, only one, the largest, is available for this weapon.

Now let's use a gun with a penetration of 170 mm - penetration of medium tanks of the 7th-8th level, some TTs of the 8th. Weaknesses became much more. Two more towers began to succumb. At right angles, the tank makes its way almost everywhere. But only under straight lines, and even then not always.

And finally, penetration of 258 mm. With such a penetration, some level 8 TTs, level 9 tanks and gold shells of many classmates will shoot at us. As you can see, even this penetration is not enough for the upper frontal part, as well as for the tracks, even in a rather large rhombus. The easiest way is to deal damage to the tank turret itself. But in practice, many players, as if enchanted, taught to play at low levels, continue to aim small turrets, which often makes it possible, playing with the body in a rhombus, to go from superfluous to mages.

Conclusions on where to shoot at the KV-5 in order to penetrate the tank: when firing from a distance or from weak guns, if it is not possible to aim at the crew turrets, then shoot at the side of the turret or at the rear of the tank. If the tank is turned towards you in front or with a diamond, then it is better to shoot at the radio operator's turret, or, if you have a really powerful gun, directly at the turret.

For KV-5 drivers, there are a couple of common tricks to reduce the risk of damage. If your silhouette is visible in its entirety, you can twist the body a little, preventing it from aiming at the fragile tower. Or roll out of cover, preferably from left to back, first getting shots at a substituted caterpillar, the so-called. "to play from the harp."

Also, here is a screenshot with the KV-5 premium tank armor from WoT Tank Viewer. You can download this useful program for World of Tanks and see any tank model like that, not only KV-5. Or use the skin mod with penetration zones, where all the modules and crew members of the vehicle are located, weak points are shown. Now it will not be a secret where he is aiming, everything will be indicated.

Now let's get acquainted with the tool

First, let's shoot from 440 m. As you can see, the penetration of the KV-5 is really not enough. But accuracy, despite the low declared value, allows you not to miss at maximum distances, and inflict damage on low-level or gaping opponents.

The second test: shooting on the move from a distance of 100 m. The accuracy with the I-6 version is more than tolerable. Given the good rate of fire, it allows you to shoot on the go in critical situations. However, even here we are let down by a very small penetration.

And finally, the most common shooting option: from an average distance of 200 m with full convergence, aiming at the weak point of the intended enemy. Moreover, this time we will also see how the installation of ventilation and pumping of the brotherhood of arms affects the accuracy - the only skill and equipment that reduces the range of information and increases accuracy. As you can see, a 10% increase in crew skills gives a very tangible improvement in shooting accuracy.

Combat tactics

So, in the face of the KV-5, we have a rather dynamic tank, which, although it has a gun with good accuracy, but due to a small penetration and very poor visibility, this gun often has to be placed close to the enemy. We have a large amount of HP and, in general, good armor, provided that we do not give the opportunity to target sore points, and a very large silhouette turns the KV-5 into a tasty target for artillery. In most cases, all this makes ambush tactics and playing in the field meaningless for us. The KV-5 gun allows you to hit even at long distances. And if the enemies are substituted, then this tank can deal very good damage. In such battles, of course, he can act both at long and medium distances. However better ways use of KV-5 - attack and tanking damage, preferably in urban areas. Gently lean out, divert the attention of the enemy, preferably, without damage, collect a shot and give an opportunity to shoot back to the attacking group of allies - this is the KV-5's strong point. At the same time, a very high rate of damage per minute allows us to perfectly remove enemies from the battle. With most enemies, ramming is very effective, with many - a clinch. For example, the IS-3 in a clinch with us will not have a chance to survive: thanks to the high position of the gun, we confidently inflict damage on the roof of the tower, and small body movements left and right make it very difficult to aim the radio operator's turret. Even if he switches to gold, a high DPM and a better amount of HP will easily make us a winner in the confrontation. However, tight combat with American heavyweights (T-29, T-32, T-34) should be avoided. A skilled driver of these vehicles will not give us the opportunity to harm him. And penetrating even sub-caliber shells is not enough for the forehead of the towers of these tanks. In any case, when playing the KV-5, you need to know the weaknesses of at least all IPT-SAU heavy tanks from tier 7 to 9 inclusive.

Equipment and skills of the KV-5 crew

And finally, let's go through the crew and equipment. With the first set, we download the light bulb to the commander and repair - to everyone else. Secondly, we improve the visibility for the commander and radio operator. The driver can download the Ram Master, but this skill is especially useful only on the KV-5 and KV-5. And if you ride with a crew on other tanks, then it is preferable, after all, to improve the cross-country ability. We download the Sniper for the gunner: a high rate of fire and good mixing make this skill a very good choice. We make one loader "desperate", the second we download a non-contact ammunition rack. For many Soviet heavies, unlike the KV-5 itself, the ammunition rack is a weak point. The third set is "Combat Brotherhood". The second and third sets can be downloaded in reverse order.

Standard equipment: fire extinguisher, repair kit and first aid kit. Instead of a fire extinguisher, it makes sense to carry Lend-Lease oil or a twisted speed controller. Tankers benefit from additional dynamics, incl. and for a ram, but this is an option for an amateur. The sight of HP slowly decreasing and a tank module failing, even in rare fires, is a little unnerving.

Equipment. Necessarily "rammer" - we improve the already good damage per minute. In the second and third slots, select options from the following list. The aiming drive stabilizers reduce the aiming time. Ventilation improves all the characteristics of the tank. Enlightened optics will increase the view to quite sane values - we will cease to be a blind mole. And the anti-fragmentation breakdown will significantly reduce the damage caused by high-explosive shells and rams. All of these modules are useful on a tank. The final choice will be up to you, based on your preferred playing style. But usually one of the slots is spent on mixing, and one of the remaining options is chosen in the last one.

And with that I end this review about the Soviet premium heavy tank KV-5 in World of Tanks, and wish you interesting battles in the world of tanks.

Good day to all. If you got to this page, then you probably don’t know how to punch Lowe, KV 5, T 34, Type 59 and smear.

In this article, I will try to explain in detail the tactics of playing against premium tanks. On the forum, I met a lot of topics about the fact that premium vehicles introduce an imbalance into the game. This is fundamentally not true. with tanks of the same level. The difference is only in the amount of farm credits. Of course, there are advantages. Although the statement cannot be called absolute truth. Why? Hands of the Lord. Shkolota Many owners bought it for this very reason.

So something I pour water. To the point.

How to pierce Lowe

Lyova is, in my opinion, the most simple premium TT. His penetration zones are quite standard.

The forehead is the lower armor plate.

Sides - they break through without problems. If the angle between your cannon and the side is not straight (90 degrees), then shoot at the closest part. It is better to shoot above the harp.

Feed - breaks through without problems. If the corner is, hit the sides.

Tower - it breaks badly, especially at long distances. If you need to shoot at the tower, choose the closest point to you.

How to break through KV 5

I must say that I am one of the lucky owners of this machine. I will say right away that it is worth the money. Reloading with a pumped crew (without modules) is 8.8 seconds.

Forehead - the right turret on the hull and a large turret on the turret on the left, it is possible to break through the gun mantlet.

Sides - with tanks up to level 6 it is better to call in the stern. The rest are taken quite well.

Feed - breaks through well at a right angle. If the angle is not a direct damage will fly out.

Since I'm tired of writing, I'll insert a video.
