The university was opened in 1993 in accordance with the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation (Moscow, 06/10/1992), Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic (Bishkek, 09/28/1992), Agreement between the Governments of the Kyrgyz Republic and Russian Federation on the conditions for the establishment and activities of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (Bishkek, 09.09.1993), by decree of the Government of the Russian Federation (Moscow, No. 149 of 02.23.1994), orders No. 326-128/1 of 14.02 .1994 Chairman of the State Committee of the Russian Federation for higher education and the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The university has a perpetual license from the Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science No. 0000310 ser. 90L01 dated August 16, 2012, reg. In 2003, President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin signed Decree No. 402-rp on expressing gratitude to the university staff for their great contribution to the development of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in the field of education. The presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Russia gave a high assessment of the university’s activities in a joint statement following the official visit of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin to the Kyrgyz Republic in September 2012: the parties note with satisfaction the effectiveness of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University in Bishkek as a major educational, scientific and cultural center of the Kyrgyz Republic and the entire Central Asian region.

On September 26, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University will host a lecture by the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Tigran Sargsyan. The speech of the head of the EEC will be devoted to the results of the five-year work of the Eurasian Economic Union and Kyrgyzstan’s membership in it. He will talk about the goals, immediate tasks, supranational bodies of this international organization, formats of its international cooperation and the advantages of the Kyrgyz Republic’s membership in it.


From August 31 to September 4, 2019, the next annual congress of the European Society of Cardiology and the World Congress of Cardiology was held in Paris (France). Over 32 thousand specialists from more than 150 countries of the world took part in the congresses, including a delegation from Kyrgyzstan, represented by employees of the Department of Therapy No. 2 of the Medical Faculty of KRSU, headed by Professor I. S. Sabirov.


The Institute of Communications and Information Technologies of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, together with Blast Maker LLC, organized and held from September 2 to 6, 2019 the next XIII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Advanced Technologies in Mining”


The first lessons are being held in the new, recently built building of the KRSU secondary school. The classrooms in which classes are taught for junior and senior classes are well equipped and spacious, and teachers emphasize the high level of equipment in the classrooms, where students will be able to fully study the disciplines provided for by the school curriculum.


The publishing house of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University presented its books for the first time at the 32nd Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF - 2019), which opened on September 4. In total, representatives of 33 countries of the world participate in the book forum.


On September 2 and 3, in the conference hall of the main building of KRSU, short-term advanced training courses were organized for teachers of the Faculty of International Relations and the Faculty of Economics under the program “Digital Economy and Globalization,” which were held with the participation of Professor of the Belarusian State Technological University I. V. Novikova.


On September 1, a solemn assembly dedicated to the beginning of the 2019-2020 academic year and Knowledge Day was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.


By decree, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S. Sh. Jeenbekova for her significant contribution to the development of socio-economic, intellectual and cultural potential Kyrgyz Republic, great achievements in professional activity, and also in honor of the Independence Day of the Kyrgyz Republic, the honorary title “Honored Doctor of the Kyrgyz Republic” was awarded to Svetlana Ibragimovna Umarova, Associate Professor of the Department of Therapy No. 1, specialties of pediatrics and dentistry at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. Student of the Faculty of International Relations of KRSU Anetta Arakelyan took part in the International Youth Forum “Eurasia Global”. Story

The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University was opened in 1993 in accordance with the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation (Moscow, June 10, 1992), and the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic (Bishkek, September 28, 1992) .) and an agreement between the governments of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation on the conditions for the establishment and activities of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (Bishkek, 09.09.1993), Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation (Moscow, No. 149 of 02.23.1994 ), by order No. 326-128/1 dated February 14, 1994, by the Chairman of the State Committee of the Russian Federation for Higher Education and by order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The first 200 students entered the university in 1993. In 1997, the first defenses of bachelor's theses took place, and a year later, in 1998, the first defenses of theses took place.

In 2004, by decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the university was named after the first President of the Russian Federation, Boris Nikolaevich Yeltsin, as a sign of special gratitude and respect for the enormous personal contribution to the creation of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. Throughout all the years of its existence, KRSU has constantly maintained close contacts with the Yeltsin Foundation, which provides significant financial support in the form of personalized scholarships to the 50 best students and helps equip the university with modern educational equipment. With the assistance of the Yeltsin Foundation, student and school Olympiads in the Russian language, international scientific and practical conferences on preserving the unified educational space in the CIS. The Intergovernmental Agreement on the conditions of activity of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, signed on April 30, 2008 in Moscow by the ministers of education and science of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic, determines the vector of development of the university for the coming years.

Currently, the university has 7 faculties, 88 departments, 6 research institutes, 15 scientific and educational centers, 4 problem laboratories, a legal clinic, a medical center, 25 studios for aesthetic education of students. The total number of full-time employees and teaching staff is 2080 people (of which 132 are doctors of science and 416 candidates of science), 20 doctoral students, 220 graduate students.

More than 9 thousand students study at the university, 624 of them are part-time students. In total, 3,019 students are studying at the expense of the budget of the Russian Federation and the republican budget of the Kyrgyz Republic, including 128 people at the expense of the quota for compatriots and foreign citizens from the CIS.

According to the contract form (with full reimbursement of costs by physical and legal entities) 6245 people are studying.

In the 2016/17 academic year, according to current licenses, the university is implementing 50 educational programs Higher professional education, including 31 - in the direction of bachelor's training, 7 - in the direction of master's training, 6 - in specialist training; further education programs, 108 postgraduate professional education programs: postgraduate studies - 64 scientific specialties within 22 areas of training, 40 residency specialties, 7 internship specialties.

In 2016, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University topped the ranking among state universities of the Kyrgyz Republic according to the indicator “Educational activity”.

The number of scientific projects under the programs of the Federal Agency for Education and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic in different years ranges from 40 to 70 topics. Actively underway scientific work under international grants from various Foundations: ISTC, UNDP, INTAS, UNESCO, UNEP, Aga Khan Foundation, Ebert Foundation, World Bank, Willys Global Fund, etc.
